Daria Wierioch - a painter from Poznan, a graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan and the Faculty of Mathematics at the Adam Mickiewicz University, skillfully moving both in the world of design and painting, but it is painting that has occupied her completely for the last few years. What is important to her in painting is the mood of the work and the emotions it evokes in the viewer.
She moves in the themes of abstract depiction of nature, cosmos, nude. For her, painting is a tool to transform and metaphorize reality. To convey an image of the world as seen from a chosen perspective. For addressing the subject of man's loss and confusion in the world, the need to constantly wade through life, finding oneself in it. And to discover at the end, and sometimes along the way, that we are part of it and whole with it.
Paintings from the PLANETARIUM series are the latest series of paintings by the Artist. They are stories about planets, moons, nebulae - not given directly, but as free interpretations and variations on what is high above us. The PLANETARIUM series is therefore an invitation to discover the secrets of the Universe, to discover ourselves in the Universe and the world within ourselves. For with the help of art we can reach the farthest recesses of our souls, traverse the cosmic spaces, explore, discover and also create our own new worlds.
Daria Wiercioch has had solo exhibitions and participated in many art events in Poland, and her paintings are in private collections both in Poland, Europe and the United States.
