Dariusz Piekut was born in 1959 in Miączyn. In 1984, he graduated from the Institute of Art Education of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. He defended his diploma in graphics/lithography with honors in the studio of Prof. Danuta Kolwzan-Nowicka. Currently engaged in painting and drawing. Scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and Art in 1997. Winner of the Honorary Certificate of the Highest Quality - Short List, VII International Biennale of Drawing in Pilsen, Czech Republic (2010). Recipient of more than a dozen awards and honors for his work in drawing and painting in national and international competitions. He has participated in more than 150 individual and group exhibitions of drawing and painting in Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Australia and Thailand. The artist's works are in private collections at home and abroad (England, USA, Germany, Bulgaria, Belgium, Australia), as well as in the Museum in Lubaczow, Nowa Huta Cultural Center in Cracow, Hrubieszow House of Culture, BWA Zamosc Gallery, Museum in Kutno and Museum in Bielsko-Biala.
