Poet, author of children’s stories and poems, sculptor, and ceramicist. From 2005 to 2007, he studied ceramics and other arts and crafts at Grennan Mill Craft School in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. He creates ceramic sculptures that blend artistic abstraction with applied art, such as vases, bowls, planters, plates, cups, and platters. He draws on motifs and elements of naïve art, Fauvism, and Surrealism, constructing surreal towers and pyramids, anthropomorphic torsos, and three-dimensional silhouettes with multidimensional meanings and references. In her decorations, she uses symbols and pictograms, ranging from primitive patterns to intricate and exuberant visions of “dancing” and “levitating” cities. In creating his works, he primarily uses stoneware clay, and less frequently terracotta. He combines wheel-throwing techniques with traditional sculpting methods. For his decorations, he uses a limited palette of glazes (transparent or faded) that evoke the naturalness and earthiness of earth tones, as well as distinctive drawing techniques using ceramic crayons. He occasionally experiments with Raku techniques and the combination of materials and textures.
