Milena ROMANOWSKA (b. 1965), Portico, 2016

She lives and works in Łódź. She practices painting and drawing and organizes and curates exhibitions. She studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Łódź (now the Academy of Fine Arts) from 1984 to 1990, where she earned a degree in painting in the studio of Prof. Jerzy Kudukis and in unique textiles in the studio of Prof. Aleksandra Mańczak.
In 1993, she spent time in Paris on an artist residency grant from the Independent Culture Foundation. In 2009, she earned her Ph.D. in painting from her alma mater. From 2010 to 2021, she led the painting and composition studio in the graphic arts program at the Social Academy of Sciences
in Łódź. From 2021 to 2024, she collaborated as a lecturer with the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Łódź. Since 2023, she has been working at the Museum of Art in Łódź.
Since 2016, she has been exhibiting alongside several female artists from Łódź as part of the group Od…do... Her works are included in numerous public and private collections. In 2024, she received first prize
in the Krzysztof Grzesiak National Painting Competition.
